Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a natural technique of stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Such techniques have been described in ancient religious and other texts. This technique was “rediscovered” by Dr. Mikao Usui in the late 1800’s. Reiki can be given with the practitioners’ hands hovering directly over the body OR can be sent to an individual wherever they are located using the Distance Reiki method. Both methods are equally effective.

As a healing techinque, Reiki assists by setting free blockages of energy in the body in order to reduce stress and promote relaxation. The free flow of energy enables the body to use its own resources to improve health. Always consult your health care practitioner if you are not feeling well. Reiki is not a substitute for regular health care. It is a safe, simple method of relaxation and energy work and is complimentary to care provided by other health care practitioners.
